To help give the Virginia Tech community a positive start to its first semester back after the April 16, 2007, shootings, DMB headlined this semi-private, free show for Tech students and faculty. A limited number of tickets were sold to the public. All four artists played for free, and ticket and merchandise sales were used to make up the cost of putting on the concert.

What the band did here is awesome and shows just how chill the guys are... doing everything they can to help the people involved!

Dave Matthews Band is my favorite band/artist. One of the best bands ever. No other sound like them, and I've been into them since UTTAD came out. But after reading that last comment I gotta say this...rarely and I mean RARELY does an artist or band ever cover a song that's better than the original. We're talking about Bob Marley, not Fall Out Boy or Matt Maze. Let's be reasonable here. I mean wow,some people just really don't get it...

Your...insufferable attitude towards an obviously wonderous song meant to cause a smile to appear on people's faces, people who absolutely need a smile, people who do not wish to dwell on a traumatic experience is...well, it's rather unforgivable. Of course, people deal with pain in their own way, but for the most part...people simply just want to forget. And, even if it's for a moment, I bet everyone at that concert got to forget.

dave and the rest of the guys did something great. They gave their time, and used their talent to try and make it a little bit better for us. Even if the music made you cry, that's a start, means we can start forgiving and dealing with it, and if they made us laugh, then they did something really great. Laughter is the best medicine. Yea, I think this DrummerGirl (spelling? I don't care to pay much attention) has to think about the actual victims. Perhaps when she dies, she'll want everyone to sit and mourn for years and years, never recovering from the loss. I guess a more appropriate song would have been "Let's worry, something horrible has happened, and life as we know it will forever suffer." They fact that the band came out and played this show for the students should go to show that they're taking it seriously.

I think I speak for everyone in Blacksburg in saying Thank You! Thank you Ballashoes for compiling the images, and setting them to this amazing moment of music, from an incredibly spiritual, healing performance. Thanks to Dave also for the beautiful, generous thing he did for all the Hokies. Stay(Wasting Time) was a pretty surreal moment too, for me, anyway...
